2009 Pinewood Derby
The boys had a lot of fun building and racing their cars. Nathan made a
Dr. Pepper Car and Matthew made a Tank. We all thought the tank would be a "tank" but it surprised everyone when it took first place! The tank also won for "Best Vehicle Not a Car". Chris even got in on the fun with the Silver Bullet Car
*Cheers to the Nichols Family*

Here is a look back at previous years..You will be shocked at how much the boys have grown!

CARDINALS ROCK!!!!
Hiking and Geocaching
Yesterday we rode our bikes to Thunderbird Park and hiked the hills "geocaching".
From the site www.geocaching.com "Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment."
This is so much fun! We found two yesterday one at Thunderbird Park and one in the desert behind our house. Each had a notebook to log our visit and trinkets left by previous geocachers. We left behind a hot wheels car and key chain from the boys school. We are going to hide our own geocache next time we visit the sand dunes :)

The Polar Bear Cup
The boys were in a Hockey Tournament this weekend and played 3 exciting games on Friday and Saturday and made it to the Championship round Sunday! Sunday's game was a nail biter that ended in a heartbreaking loss. There were a few tears that quickly turned into smiles when they realized they placed 2nd out of 7 teams. Thank you to Grandma Mary, Grandpa Sam, Jeff, Stephanie, Austin and Tucker for coming to our game Saturday night. The boys can't wait to show Aunt Amberly, Uncle Steve and Taylor their stuff Friday night!
